trials and tribulations

Truly man was created very impatient: fretful when evil touches him, and niggardly when good reaches him. (70:19-21)

"There are two categories of people that a righteous believer should not slip into. The first kinds are those who desperately seek Allah’s help and forgiveness when in calamity or peril. Then when Allah (swt) delivers them from their calamity, they forget Allah and go back to their usual life of indifference to Allah and the Hereafter. About these people, Allah (swt) says:
When trouble touches a man he cries unto Us (in all postures) lying down on his side or sitting or standing. But when We have solved his trouble he passes on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! Thus do the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes! (10:12)
The second kinds are those who worship Allah and follow his commandments so long as they enjoy a comfortable or trouble-free life. Then when calamities strike them, they break down and become indifferent to Allah and his commandments out of anger and frustration. It is, as if, they deserve a comfortable life in return for their worshipping of Allah (swt). About them, says Allah (swt):
Among men is he who worships Allah, while remaining on the borderline; if any good befalls him, he is satisfied; but if a trial afflicts him, he utterly turns away. He will incur loss both of this world and the Hereafter. That indeed is a clear loss. (21:11)
Falling into one these two categories is an utter failure. A true believer is one who always worships Allah (swt) – whether in calamity or in good fortune. When in calamity, he remains patient and pleased with Allah, and when something good happens to him, he thanks Allah. Thus he always earns rewards and Allah’s good pleasure while he lives in this world. The Prophet (p) said:
How wonderful is the case of a believer! There is good for him in everything, and this is not the case with anyone except a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him. (Muslim)"

Untuk kita yang dah 40 plus plus (nak selamatkan spouses yang kuat merokok dan makan dan member yang seumur dengannya...)

Heart attack - emergency first aid

Reviewed by Dr Neal Uren, consultant cardiologist and Dr Reginald Odbert, GP

Important: this is a brief guide to the emergency help that can be given in the event of a heart attack or cardiac arrest before the arrival of emergency services. It is not intended as a replacement for a first aid or resuscitation course.

What should you do if someone has a heart attack?

If someone has a cardiac arrest or heart attack, there are only a few minutes to act before it is too late. It is vital to know what to do beforehand.

To perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and artificial respiration (mouth to mouth resuscitation) effectively, training and frequent practice on resuscitation dummies are essential.

First aid courses are offered all over the country at night schools or by voluntary organisations such as St John Ambulance or The Red Cross.

How can you tell if someone is having a heart attack?

If the person is unconscious:

  • are they breathing? Look at the patient's chest to see if it is rising and falling.
  • do they have a pulse? Place two fingers on one or other side of the person's voice box in their throat to feel if they have a carotid pulse.

If the patient has a pulse but is not breathing:

  • could it be because of suffocation? Feel inside the mouth with a finger to see if there is anything blocking it or the windpipe and remove any food or other objects. Provided that dentures are not broken, it is better not to remove them.
  • call for help immediately, stating that the casualty is not breathing, and provide resuscitation (see below) until the patient begins to breathe or the ambulance arrives.

If there is no breathing or pulse, the patient has had a cardiac arrest.

What help is needed?

  • If possible, raise the legs up 12 to 18 inches to allow more blood to flow towards the heart
  • Immediately place the palm of your hand flat on the patient's chest just over the lower part of the sternum (breast bone) and press your hand in a pumping motion once or twice by using the other hand. This may make the heart beat again.

If these actions do not restore a pulse or if the subject doesn't begin to breathe again:

  • call for help, stating that the casualty is having a cardiac arrest but stay with the patient.
  • find out if any one else present knows CPR.
  • provide artificial respiration immediately (see below).
  • begin CPR immediately (see below).

How to give artificial respiration

  • Tilt the head back and lift up the chin.
  • Pinch the nostrils shut with two fingers to prevent leakage of air.
  • Take a deep breath and seal your own mouth over the person's mouth.
  • Breathe slowly into the person's mouth - it should take about two seconds to adequately inflate the chest.
  • Do this twice.
  • Check to see if the chest rises as you breathe into the patient.
  • If it does, enough air is being blown in.
  • If there is resistance, try to hold the head back further and lift the chin again.
  • Repeat this procedure until help arrives or the person starts breathing again.

How do I perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)?

See if there is breathing. If not, start artificial respiration as described above. Checking for a pulse in the neck (carotid artery) may waste valuable time if the rescuer is inexperienced in this check. The procedure is:

  • place your fingers in the groove between the windpipe and the muscles of the side of the neck. Press backwards here to check for a pulse.

If there is no pulse, or if you are unsure, then proceed without delay thus:

  • look at the person's chest and find the 'upside-down V' shaped notch that is made by the lower edge of the ribcage. Place your middle finger in this notch and then place your index finger beside it, resting on the breastbone. Take the heel of your other hand and slide it down the breastbone until it is touching this index finger. The heel of your hand should now be positioned on the middle of the lower half of the breastbone.
  • now place the heel of your other hand on top of the first. Keep your fingers off the chest, by locking them together. Your pressure should be applied through the heels of the hands only.
  • keep your elbows straight, and bring your body weight over your hands to make it easier to press down.
  • press down firmly and quickly to achieve a downwards movement of 4 to 5cm, then relax and repeat the compression.
  • do this 15 times, then give artificial respiration twice, and continue this 15:2 procedure until help arrives.
  • aim for a rate of compression of about 100 per minute. You can help your timing and counting by saying out loud 'one and two and three and four ...' etc.

Artificial respiration and CPR should both be performed at the same time

  • If possible, get someone else to help - one person to perform artificial respiration and the other to perform CPR. (This is not easily done without prior practice and it is well worth attending sessions on CPR training to become familiar with the technique.)
  • The ratio of chest compressions to breaths is 15:2 for both one-person and two-person CPR.
  • Continue until the ambulance arrives or the patient gets a pulse and starts to breathe again.
  • If the pulse returns and breathing begins but the person remains unconscious, roll them gently onto their side into the recovery position. This way mucus or vomit can get out of the mouth and will not obstruct the patient's breathing. It also prevents the tongue from falling back and blocking the air passage.

Make sure the patient continues breathing and has a pulse until the ambulance arrives

  • If you succeed in resuscitating the person who has been taken ill, he or she may be confused and alarmed by all the commotion. Keep the patient warm and calm by quietly, but clearly, telling them what has happened.

Again, it needs to be emphasised that the only way to provide proper first aid and resuscitation is through learning the technique, then regular practice and guidance.

Hypocrites drone about " Iranian human rights" in Italy...

G8 'deplores' Iran poll violence

The Group of Eight leading powers meeting in Italy have said they "deplore" the post-election violence in Iran and urged the Islamic republic to "respect fundamental human rights".

"We deplore post-electoral violence which led to the loss of lives of Iranian civilians," the G8 foreign ministers said in a draft statement on Friday.

While US drones keep slaughtering civilians:

Human rights do not exist for this boy from Farah in Aghanistan, because the US bombs are humane

Al Jazeera:
Up to 80 people have been killed after missiles were fired from a US "drone" at the funeral of a suspected Taliban commander of the Pakistani Taliban in South Waziristan, Pakistan officials have said.

There have reportedly been more than 20 US drone attacks against targets in Pakistan so far this year, although Tuesday's strikes are the deadliest to date.

Frequent attacks by pilotless US drone aircraft have been heavily criticised by Pakistani leaders for killing innocent civilians and infringing upon national sovereignty.

The US considers Pakistan's tribal region, of which South Waziristan is a part, a hideout from where al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters launch attacks on US forces in Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON, Jun 25, 2009 (IPS) - The version of the official military investigation into the disastrous May 4 airstrike in Farah province made public last week by the Central Command was carefully edited to save the U.S. command in Afghanistan the embarrassment of having to admit that earlier claims blaming the massive civilian deaths on the "Taliban" were fraudulent.

By covering up the most damaging facts surrounding the incident, the rewritten public version of report succeeded in avoiding media stories on the contradiction between the report and the previous arguments made by the U.S. command.

The declassified "executive summary" of the report on the bombing issued last Friday admitted that mistakes had been made in the use of airpower in that incident. However, it omitted key details which would have revealed the self-serving character of the U.S. command’s previous claims blaming the "Taliban" – the term used for all insurgents fighting U.S. forces - for the civilian deaths from the airstrikes.

The report reasserted the previous claim by the U.S. command that only about 26 civilians had been killed in the U.S. bombing on that day, despite well-documented reports by the government and by the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission that between 97 and 147 people were killed.

Where are the human rights of the civilians continually slaughtered in cold blood daily?

Yeah Bro Ahmed! I would give 'em the finger too! (Better still that nuke warhead...)

The Land of Opportunity

My chinese neighbour at Jalan 2, has this beauty in his porch....

the SL 55...

everyday as I go for my morning walk...I only get to see this behind his gates...

I stand there for more than a minute, admiring the beautiful curves...until he comes out...looking worried, that I might be planning to steal it.

He goes to work each day on this...

...as a pillion rider, menumpang his Indonesian worker...

If I had the SL 55...I would even drive down to my neighbor two doors down in it...

Heck, I would park it in my bed and sleep with it. In it.

That man does NOT deserve that baby...leaving it out in the cold each night. I have never seen it go past the guard house either. Does he drive it at all? Or just look at it...?

I don't know what everyone is complaining about...the Benggali peon cum taxi driver cum OCD housekeeper (I too was OCD once until I had kids...they liberated me...hahaha) next door has his interior deco out of the pages of Town & Country worth almost 300k, the towkay ikan with the refrigerated pick-up dripping fish water in front of my house has a brand new Estima parked in his porch and had his angioplasty done at Gleneagles, the Malay guy opposite has a V12 7-series BMW and he can't even open his e-mails without his secretary's help..and here I am, a gomen-sponsored US-grad driving a...err.. Proton Persona in a sparsely furnished house out of the pages of How-Not-to-Decorate-Your-House.

And the guy with the SL 55...he probably sells joss-sticks for a living. I see him praying fervently each morning at his tokong with a handful of them before hopping onto the kapcai to work (maybe he prays I don't steal his Merc while he is away).

The latte-sipping Bangsar liberals whining about discrimination and inequality must be living in another universe. Or maybe their brains got de-caffeinated.

(And oh. An illegal immigrant from down south, a kiasu Singaporean Malabari mamak, snared a local's husband. Talk about wide-ranging possibilities and opportunity, opportunity...)

Isn't Malaysia great?

What are they bitching about?!

Sheesh.

Man...I wish I had that hot piece of metal here with me now. The SL 55. It sure is cold and rainy tonight.

Nite baby...I'll plan our escape...we will go topless. You will, I mean...the retractable steel hardtop gone in 16 seconds.

I will have the wind in my face. Or some discarded teh tarik bungkus thrown out of a passing van.

I just can't sleep.

Do Some Thinking Before Filing for Divorce

Posted to by Cathy Meyer on Mon, 02/09/2009 - 12:42pm

Are you thinking about divorce? The decision to divorce is critical, with consequences that can last a lifetime. It is a step that should be thoroughly thought out before taken.

Below are questions you should ask yourself before making the decision to divorce.

Is there still an emotional connection?

Have your feelings for your husband faded or are you frustrated over marital problems that seem insurmountable? If there are still feelings of love, you should work on the marriage before deciding to divorce. Don't allow feelings of frustration to cause you to make a choice you will later regret. If there is love left, seeking to solve problems with a marriage counselor could put the brakes on a divorce you didn't want in the first place.

Is your desire to divorce based on an emotional reaction or true self-awareness?

A true desire for divorce means letting go of any emotional attachments you have to your husband, the good ones and the bad ones. Making the decision to divorce at a time when you are overwhelmed with emotions won't solve problems. It will generate more problems and compound hurtful feelings and frustrations.

Being able to view your husband as an individual who deserves your respect during the transition of divorce is imperative. If you can't do this, the divorce process will be riddled with anger and conflict. Divorce is not an opportunity to point fingers and blame. It is the opportunity to move on and rebuild your life. The more negative your emotions toward your husband, the harder the process of rebuilding will be.

Is it a divorce you want, or a change in marital dynamics?

Some view divorce as a last resort — the step they need to make to get their husband's attention. They think that if they threaten divorce or follow through with a divorce, their husband will come to his senses and realize what he has lost. Their husband will be magically transformed into the man of their dreams, the marriage can be put back together, and all will live happily ever after.

If you want a change in the dynamics between you and your husband, it isn't divorce you want. Something to think about; once you have divorced, your spouse is free to form emotional attachments to others. If that thought is uncomfortable, think twice before making a decision to divorce.

Can you handle the needs others may have as a result of a divorce?

Divorce can mean a loss of dreams and goals... for you, your husband, and your children. Even if you are positive it is a divorce you want, you need to have a support system in place to help you deal with the stress associated with divorce. You need to be able to face the pain your husband and children will feel and to help them cope.

Do you have what it takes to get through the divorce process?

If you do decide to divorce, you will need a plan, realistic expectations, the ability to be honest with yourself and others, courage, self esteem, and self-respect. Take a moral inventory and arm yourself before beginning the process.

Iran...

how convenient the chaos...

"my freedom penis is bigger than yours" banners

the warhogs gleefully
rub their already bloodied hands dipped in the blood of millions of Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis
feigning concern about the so-called oppression of the Iranian people

National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Behind Mousavi Green Revolution

By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS
Sunday, June 21, 2009

A number of commentators have expressed their idealistic belief in the purity of Mousavi, Montazeri, and the westernized youth of Terhan. The CIA destabilization plan, announced two years ago (see below) has somehow not contaminated unfolding events.

The claim is made that Ahmadinejad stole the election, because the outcome was declared too soon after the polls closed for all the votes to have been counted. However, Mousavi declared his victory several hours before the polls closed. This is classic CIA destabilization designed to discredit a contrary outcome. It forces an early declaration of the vote. The longer the time interval between the preemptive declaration of victory and the release of the vote tally, the longer Mousavi has to create the impression that the authorities are using the time to fix the vote. It is amazing that people don’t see through this trick.

As for the grand ayatollah Montazeri’s charge that the election was stolen, he was the initial choice to succeed Khomeini, but lost out to the current Supreme Leader. He sees in the protests an opportunity to settle the score with Khamenei. Montazeri has the incentive to challenge the election whether or not he is being manipulated by the CIA, which has a successful history of manipulating disgruntled politicians.

There is a power struggle among the ayatollahs. Many are aligned against Ahmadinejad because he accuses them of corruption, thus playing to the Iranian countryside where Iranians believe the ayatollahs' lifestyles indicate an excess of power and money. In my opinion, Ahmadinejad's attack on the ayatollahs is opportunistic. However, it does make it odd for his American detractors to say he is a conservative reactionary lined up with the ayatollahs.

Commentators are "explaining" the Iran elections based on their own illusions, delusions, emotions, and vested interests. Whether or not the poll results predicting Ahmadinejad's win are sound, there is, so far, no evidence beyond surmise that the election was stolen. However, there are credible reports that the CIA has been working for two years to destabilize the Iranian government.

On May 23, 2007, Brian Ross and Richard Esposito reported on ABC News: “The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert “black” operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell ABC News.”

On May 27, 2007, the London Telegraph independently reported: “Mr. Bush has signed an official document endorsing CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilize, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs.”

A few days previously, the Telegraph reported on May 16, 2007, that Bush administration neocon warmonger John Bolton told the Telegraph that a US military attack on Iran would “be a ‘last option’ after economic sanctions and attempts to foment a popular revolution had failed.”

On June 29, 2008, Seymour Hersh reported in the New Yorker: “Late last year, Congress agreed to a request from President Bush to fund a major escalation of covert operations against Iran, according to current and former military, intelligence, and congressional sources. These operations, for which the President sought up to four hundred million dollars, were described in a Presidential Finding signed by Bush, and are designed to destabilize the country’s religious leadership.”

The protests in Tehran no doubt have many sincere participants. The protests also have the hallmarks of the CIA orchestrated protests in Georgia and Ukraine. It requires total blindness not to see this.

Daniel McAdams has made some telling points. For example, neoconservative Kenneth Timmerman wrote the day before the election that “there’s talk of a ‘green revolution’ in Tehran.” How would Timmerman know that unless it was an orchestrated plan? Why would there be a ‘green revolution’ prepared prior to the vote, especially if Mousavi and his supporters were as confident of victory as they claim? This looks like definite evidence that the US is involved in the election protests.

Timmerman goes on to write that “the National Endowment for Democracy has spent millions of dollars promoting ‘color’ revolutions . . . Some of that money appears to have made it into the hands of pro-Mousavi groups, who have ties to non-governmental organizations outside Iran that the National Endowment for Democracy funds.” Timmerman’s own neocon Foundation for Democracy is “a private, non-profit organization established in 1995 with grants from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), to promote democracy and internationally-recognized standards of human rights in Iran.”

BBC Caught In Mass Public Deception With Iran Propaganda 180609top

The BBC has again been caught engaging in mass public deception by using photographs of pro-Ahmadinejad rallies in Iran and claiming they represent anti-government protests in favor of Hossein Mousavi.

Former Iranian Prime Minister Mir Hossein Mousavi (little known abroad) and hero of the 1980-88 treacherous SADDAM-CIA-MOSSAD war against Iran, most probably after having received instructions from CIA-MOSSAD, announced ‘out of the blue’ on 9 March 2009, after 20 years of political silence, that he was entering the Iranian Presidential race only two months prior to the elections! Right at the outset, something was stinking a CIA-MOSSAD covert operation...

MOUSAVI was suddenly supposed without any kind of massive popular support that he was clearly and by some kind of miracle a far better candidate than President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who his partisans and other western agents were condemning because of “his tough anti-U.S. and anti-Israel rhetoric”! MOUSAVI’s Shenanigans are all too obvious! His agenda is a western CIA-MOSSAD one, an anti-Iranian, anti-Islamic and a pro-Israel one under the guise of reform.

MOUSAVI claims to be a reformist, that is one whose ambition is to “improve ties with the West” (Shaytaan), and “loosen restrictions at home” imposed by a “fundamentalist and archaic regime that oppresses its women”! So, MOUSAVI seeks to liberate Iranian women and has been hired by the West to lead a feminist Crusade, de-Talibanise and de-hijaabise Iranian women. As such, he poses as a political and social reformist!

The CIA-MOSSAD, a master of deception, knew very well that the traitor would lose, but the plan was to denounce the elections as a fraud once they were over, for which reason MOUSAVI claimed that he had won and celebrated his victory saying that the elections were rigged and were to be “scrapped”. Anybody can see the deception!

MOUSAVI seeks to change the very nature of the Iranian Islamic State by ‘liberalizing’ the media and morality, that is by opening Iran to prostitution, homosexuality, fornication, adultery, abortion, gambling and accepting the Holocaust of Six Million Jews without question and the Apartheid State of Israel! This is what this Zionist agent calls REFORM!

Ahmadinejad is further accused of “mismanaging” the Iranian economy, but not a word is said about the US-UN imposed sanctions that have almost crippled Iran, and the Jewish bank gangsters who are behind the global financial scam! All the ills of Iran are blamed on Ahmadinejad! The US, the UN and Apartheid Israel are all innocent parties! So, you see the treachery?

Now, that MOUSAVI has clearly been defeated democratically, he is resorting to a COUP D’ÉTAT with western complicity! But, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei holds ultimate political power in Iran and strongly supports Ahmadinejad's re-election. When MOUSAVI was Prime Minister, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was President, and because MOUSAVI wanted to have dictatorial powers, the Constitution was amended and the position of prime minister was abolished. His first coup d’état failed, but will CIA-MOSSAD MOUSAVI succeed now?
