Once upon a time
there was a little girl
who cowered in fear
looking at her beloved father
hitting her beloved mother
and she thought,
"I won't ever let that happen to me"
and so 30 years later
another little girl
watched in fear
as her beloved father
hit her beloved mother
who once promised herself
"I won't ever let that happen to me"
and that little girl said to herself
as she too cowered in fear
"I won't ever let that happen to me"
this time
it won't...
because
mummy won't...
let it happen to you
"that's a promise..."
