Ancaman kualiti air
KUALA LUMPUR 13 Dis.
(deja vu)
Rainwater harvesting must be made compulsory in all new housing developments. Simple solutions make no sense to our politicians. They like billion ringgit deals. More commissions...

My mind dah worried about the coming water problems in Lembah Klang.Selfishly,I am firstly worried for my daughter whos staying in Kota Damansara.Next,my siblings and their families, and lastly all my friends.
I hope the government and the proper authorities will act fast.Janganlah wait until its too much to handle.
Benda ni dah lama dah mamasita.
Dah banyak kali experts warn about the state of our rivers yang teruk sangat polluted, esp kat Selangor and Penang.
Penang has the most toxic tiver in South East Asia, if not Asia)..that notorious Sg Juru.
Each river cleanup needs about 15 miliion...tapi gomen allocated 5 million for one state...
And our people, they keep making our rivers into tong sampah. Nak kena educate depa dari kecik. I wish they can incorporate environmental awareness into the syllabus. Bukan setakat dok dalam kelas.
Oh, I remember when we had that severe shortage in 1997, masa I just had my firstborn...teruk I tell you. nak kena angkut air from merata2, ration tak tentu masa...aduh.
hi babe , like your style , wanna meet up ?
Kalimullah Wannabe,
You just made me throw up my lunch.
Retchhhhh!
Kalimullah Wannabe,

Hahahahaa Hohoho
Padan muka. You moron. Best put down I've heard in years...still laughing, can't type properly!
ROTFL! Heehehee
OK can type properly now.
Lack of potable water is going to be a major problem soon. No doubt about it. People just don't understand the need to protect water sources and the gomen is not doing enough. We pollute and we waste. No political will. Eg Khir Toyo faced problems with illegal factories discharging effluent into rivers. What did he do?. He went on a 'pemutihan' exercise!.
We have rivers that are so polluted that even bacteria can't survive.
And it's not just bacteria. A fertility specialist says that at one time women living downriver in London were having daughters more than sons. The authorities were puzzled by this phenomenon.
They soon discovered the reason - urine from women on the Pill upriver was discharged into the Thames without being treated first. The hormones found their way into the water supply and those downstream were taking the Pill, albeit in lower doses, second hand basically. The contraceptives being female hormones influenced the gender of the baby.
I certainly don't want to end up drinking Nuwater like Singaporeans.
Doc,
This kallimullah fella very kurang ajar.left a nasty comment for me at Demi Negara until I asked KM to remove it.
But you can see from hos blog why lah...his porno filled blog reveals a tendency towards self-gratification. His mum obviously didn't warn him that the practice makes one cracko...poor man.
On the water issue...even in the US, treated water contained traces of drugs excreted via urine and tested samples included even anti-psychotics (how to tapis that...excreted drugs)...can you imagine the effect on kids ( and adults)? Wonder how it is here? Sure tarak figures (or research).
Today in the Star, CAP President repeated the same unheeded call to have proper watershed management and protection of highlands ie catchment areas made in 2002:
CAREFUL STUDY AND JUSTIFICATION NEEDED BEFORE PRIVATISATION OF WATER IN MALAYSIA
The Consumers' Association of Penang and Sahabat Alam Malaysia today urged the Cabinet and the Works Minister not to proceed with any plans to privatize the management of water until a full and careful study justifying the benefit of such a move is in place.
We are deeply concerned by Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu's comments in newspapers today that Malaysia may have to privatize water management fully as it is no longer viable for State Governments to shoulder the heavy role of water supply.
He was reported to have said that the privatization proposal was in accordance with the Asian Development Bank's recommendation that advised governments to open up and privatize water management and allow investors to set their own charges to ensure profit. He did however give the assurance that water tariffs would always be subject to government control. The Minister was going to table a report to the Cabinet highlighting the problems faced by State Governments in supplying water and the solutions.
Water is an essential public resource which must be controlled and managed by the Government in the public interest. Handing this very vital resource completely over to the private sector for profit will have serious consequences, as it can result in the inequitable distribution of water where the poor who cannot afford water will suffer. Ensuring adequate water resources also involves environmental considerations, such as proper watershed management and conservation natural resources such as forests and the protection of highlands. This cannot be left to the private sector.
Further, claims that privatization will definitely bring benefits to the Government and the public must be definitely proven and amply justified before implementation.
Recent experiences both in Malaysia and in other countries are enough lessons to undertake a prudent and cautious approach in privatization policy. In Malaysia itself, the IWK experience in sewerage privatization and the subsequent government intervention is a clear example of lessons to learn from. Currently in the United Kingdom, the railway system has been nationalized due to problems in privatization. The same was the case with the privatization of power in California recently that led to major problems for consumers.
The Malaysian Government must not blindly adopt ADB policies without careful consideration as to whether such policies are in our national interest.
Further, the 8th Malaysia Plan has stated that a National Water Policy is currently being formulated to provide the framework for water conservation and management. This policy is long overdue and must be expedited. Consultations with the public are also essential in ensuring feedback and valuable inputs into the development of the policy.

President
Will they listen? Nah...not till we are left with the last drop.

quote: 'When a man really wants freedom and to live in a democratic society he may not be able to free the whole world . . . but he can to a large extent at least free himself by behaving as a rational and moral being, and if he can do this, others around him can do the same, and these again will spread freedom by their example"
Hi Lian Ker,
We can only be truly rational and moral by submitting to His Will and freeing ourselves of the shackles of our selfish desires and illusions and limited capacity of thought as mere mortals.
Only fear and love of Him will move us into acting in a just manner. Otherwise, why bother if ultimately we only answer to ourselves and die a meaningless death only to become fodder for the worms?
(and i am also speaking for myself)
