Lonely?

Loneliness is the affliction of many, that which we have not learned to recognise as the voice within us calling us unto fellowship with our inner beings, that our true selves may be discovered when nobody else stands witness to the intimacies owed only to ourselves and nobody else.
(email from JM (a friend))

How very true. Loss of companionship of another, loneliness, isolation (self-imposed or otherwise), is in reality a chance to listen to our inner voice and reconnect with ourselves, and our reasons for being.

Because ultimately,

we stand before Him Alone.

And He knows Best the reasons for everything. We just can't see it yet. So we must embrace the moments leading up to it, Because the answer, when it comes, will be all the more sweeter and meaningful.

By that moment of recognition of His Revealed Plan, we will already have "grown" to fit perfectly into the new skin, role, position...or person.

When all else has left, love, wealth, position; there is only "us".

Do we love "us" as much as we loved everything and everyone else around us?

To do the right thing by us?

And not keep running away (whether into other pursuits or people, simply to forget,...just another form of denial and fear of ourselves and the hollowness of our being, unable to sustain itself on its own...)

How eloquently you express your thoughts, Saya! No one can do introspection like you do.

In Native American cultures, young people undergo Vision Quests in complete isolation, that they may see the Divine and understand themsleves and their own role in the fabric of existence better.

Young people of our culture, on the other hand, are mostly so mollycoddled that the only time they get to experience isolation is when they are in the toilet.

I hope when I face my Maker one day, I can face my Maker with humility but without fear, knowing that I have done my best.
